This bro came running up to the edge and had his trunks on; he had on a couple of necklaces, some bracelets and a watch. No disrespect – his physique was good and I’m sure he could swim, but you don’t go bodysurfing in big shorebreak without fins and with the jewelry rack from Nordstrom’s on. I thought “Chale! He’s not going in is he? He’ll get pummeled!” I kept watching him and sure as shiite, he swam on in and then I was thinking “Bummahs! If (when) he gets all freakin’ destroyed in there, I’m the closest person to him and I have to go get him…” (not that I’d be much help, btw) I kept an eye on him as I shot and instead of looking foolish, he managed to snag some good waves, catch some killer rides and bang out a good time. Shows what I know.
